Upload your PDF, or your PPTX if your deck includes GIFs or videos. Then choose whether to share it as a link for asynchronous viewing or start a live session to present in real time. Viewers can join instantly on any device without downloads or screen sharing. Learn more on the How It Works page.
Yes. Open the three-dot menu on your deck and select Edit. You can then either edit the current version in the Decklit editor, or upload a completely new file, PPTX or PDF, as a new version of the same deck. You can also do this from the versions page, using Edit or Upload new version.
The link stays the same, so anyone you've already shared it with will see the updated deck without needing a new link. When you upload a new file, you can choose whether it becomes the current version straight away. Making a version current permanently clears the questions and notes on the deck, and they can't be restored. If you'd like to keep them for now, upload the new file without making it current. It will be saved under Other versions until you're ready. Every version is kept. You can view them all under See all versions and set any of them as current at any time, bearing in mind that doing so also clears the questions and notes.Yes. Decklit provides a native WebRTC presentation experience designed specifically around slides, not generic video calls. Its key differentiator is the ability to present your deck and share an additional screen at the same time, keeping your slides persistent while showing demos, documents, or other content when needed (available on paid plans).
Decklit can be used on its own for presentation-focused sessions, or alongside tools like Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. When the presentation is delivered directly through the deck, Decklit helps reduce unnecessary data usage compared to traditional screen sharing, making sessions lighter and more sustainable while giving you greater control over your content and interactions. If screen sharing is used extensively within external meeting tools, performance will depend on those platforms.Yes. When you upload a PPTX, Decklit's engine extracts embedded GIFs and videos and places them back exactly where they sat on the slide. GIFs play and loop automatically, and videos play at full quality on each viewer's own device, including phones, rather than through a compressed screen share.
For the most reliable playback, especially with longer or high resolution videos, we recommend adding them natively through the Decklit editor after uploading your deck. Media added this way is handled directly by Decklit and gives you full control over how it plays. Note that PDF files cannot carry media. If your deck includes GIFs or videos, upload the PPTX rather than a PDF export.Decklit converts uploaded slides into images to ensure stability, privacy and optimal performance during live sessions. GIFs and videos embedded in a PPTX are the exception, and are extracted and played back in place. See "Are GIFs and videos in my PowerPoint supported?" for details.
With the built-in Editor, you can reorder or remove slides, add structured transitions, and embed videos directly into your deck. Because media is handled natively within Decklit, playback is more stable and consistent than traditional screen sharing or external embeds. Element-level animations, such as objects appearing one by one within a slide, aren't preserved automatically. For animated sequences, we recommend splitting them into consecutive slides before uploading for the best visual result.Pressing "End Session" will immediately end the live streaming for everyone. Once stopped, the session cannot be resumed, and you’ll need to upload the deck again to create a new session and generate a new QR code.
If your content hasn’t changed, you can use the Duplicate feature to quickly create a new session without re-uploading the deck. You can also update the title and session time before starting the new live stream.
